Tak Bat Bok Mai

Tak Bat Bok Mai has long been regarded as a major festival side by side with Wat Phra Buddha Band Ratchawora Maha Vihara in Phra Buddha Bat district of Saraburi province, the only place in Thailand where the locals and Buddhists from neighboring provinces meet once a year for this event. While the beginning of Buddhist Lent is designated as the day for such a lovely celebration, the flowers used on this occasion are no less remarkable having been confined to dok khao pansa, a flower resembling those of wild ginger or tumeric which blooms simultaneously with the Buddhist Let.
